Manuscripts
The 54 manuscripts in the corpus are listed below according to Daniel Huws’ estimation of the periods in which they were written:
We had intended to include Peniarth 164 (dated to c.1350) in the corpus but unfortunately the condition of that manuscript was such that it would have taken many weeks of intensive work in the National Library to transcribe.
We were, however, extremely fortunate that Dr Gwenno Angharad Elias had been studying the manuscript for a higher degree under the supervision of Dr Morfudd Owen. Dr Elias kindly donated her transcript to the project. Her conventions do, though, differ from those of the present project and time precluded our adapting her work to conform to the standards established for our editions. But with her ready permission, we include her transcription here in a pdf file.
