Additions and Marginalia
On occasion, letters, words or phrases have been inserted into a text by either the scribe himself, an annotator or corrector, or by a later reader. Annotations by later readers are recorded in the header file but additions which appear to have been made at the time the manuscript was written have been encoded with the text.
Additions to the original text are recorded between <add>
and </add>
tags.
Where the addition is found on the manuscript page is recorded by the place
attribute. There
are eight possibilities:
supralinear
: above the lineinfralinear
: below the lineinline
: on the linemarginleft
: in the left marginmarginright
: in the right marginmarginbot
: in the bottom marginmargintop
